Environmental Type: Image Making Group Project

The objectives for this project were to make a word that is huge out of a material that makes sense, a word that fits on our chosen wall, a word that makes the audience move to view it, and a word that plays with light and shadow. We pitched at least 3 ideas for use of materials and decided on cardboard mailing tubes. I chose the word “VOID” because of the hollow and open void of the tubes. After ordering and gathering enough tubes, we began to cut and glue them to foam board using a template I created. We then spray painted them using a gradient color palette that I chose. Final step was to add tea lights for accent lighting.
